Bio: Saphiya (also spelled Safia) Khan is a twenty-something working on calling Minnesota home. She was born and raised in Pakistan and immigrated to the U.S. in 2007 for college. Saphiya enjoys cooking, exploring new places, hiking, writing (poetry and prose), and reading. She works as a Program Manager, specializing in Criminal Justice System Advocacy, for the MN Coalition for Battered Women. Saphiya has worked in the human rights movement since 2005 and created her first blog in 2004.
